Bring any outdated or unneeded medications including prescription or over-the-counter pills, liquids, and gels (NO SHARPS) to Bomgaars for proper destruction. At the collection, you can receive a free medication lock box or Deterra at-home medication disposal packet.

Help your child understand the difference between make-believe and real life. Ask “What do you think about this TV show?” Let them know your likes and dislikes and discuss how violence and bad decisions can hurt. Suggestion by Chandler Dulin, Community Connections Coordinator, Substance Abuse Prevention.

10th Annual Doggy Dash 5k at Cody Park

On Saturday, September 11th at Cody Park join walkers and runners for another year of dog filled fun at the 2021 Doggy Dash 5K & 1 Mile Family Run.

You can register ahead of time online or at the event. Race day registration begins at 7:45am with the race starting at 8:45am. The cost is $25 per participant which includes a long sleeve t-shirt.

Participants can run or walk with their dog, individually, or with a group. All dogs must be on a six foot or shorter leash. There will be fun contests for dogs and their owners, which include; largest ‘pack’ of runners, best ‘pack’ theme, and best dressed dog starting at 8:30am day of race. Doggone great prizes with be awarded.

The Doggy Dash is a part of the Platte River Fitness Series and is the only race in the series that allows your furry friends to participate.
